Drosophila Suzukii is the scourge of small fruits that arrived on our territory, initially infested primarily blueberries, raspberries and strawberries.
This fly has become a real emergency: it seems that to date no effective molecule has been found to fight it, and many studies and experiments are still in progress.
After placing two 1.5V AA batteries (not included) in its battery compartment, insert the luminaire into its bracket inside one of the semispheres, then assemble the sphere.
Before applying the glue, wrap the sphere with a transparent plastic film (such as cling film, or two clear shower cups); then apply a suitable glue.
Suitable glues range from sprayable to brushable, specific for insects and tube glue (such as mouse glue), all of which are available in garden centres and specialised stores.
No need to have an orchard to support the wasps and hornets in circulation: they make nests everywhere, in attics rather than normally on trees, or in hidden cavities, usually in quiet places, where they can cultivate the undisturbed colony.
The concept does not change: it is now that the biotraps have to be prepared because it is very important to eliminate the queens and avoid the population.
Even in the garden, there are pests and snails that spoil our work: in the case of the former, it is very useful to protect ourselves from the threat to better treat our work without pesticides or to minimize it.
In the case of snails, however, we can help with natural methods, but also with the use of intelligence and security of slug pellets, perhaps biological, by managing them so as not to contaminate the cultivated lands.
With the arrival of summer, flies, mosquitoes, insects of all kinds are abundant where we keep the animals like cows or horses.
Eliminating insects from the stable is really difficult, but extremely necessary because they annoy and sting our horses without stop. It is often necessary to disinfect the entire barn, or spray a pesticide on the horse itself.
Flies are very common insects present in various species in every country and in addition to creating discomfort, can transmit various diseases, be deposited on food before it is ingested: gastroenteritis, dysentery, intestinal worms, salmonella, etc.
In food storage warehouses, as well as in businesses, flies can contaminate production, causing significant economic damage.

RED COLORED TRAPS SPECIFIC FOR DROSOPHILA SUZUKII
VASO TRAP®: selective trap for monitoring and massive trapping
TAP TRAP®: trap for massive capture
Suggested bait by the Edmund Mach Foundation in San Michele all’Adige (TN):
Mix into traps apple cider vinegar (3/4), red wine (1/4) with a tablespoon of brown sugar. Replace the bait inside the container every 15 days.
Sfera Trap™ is an ingenious device for attracting and killing various kind of flying pests: midges, mosquitos, common flies, fruit flies, olive flies, wasps, hornets, Vespa velutina (Asian hornet) lepidoptera, etc.
NB: do not use on flowering plants.
Vaso Trap® is a newly marketed trap for catching harmful insects, also designed with in mind the need and benefit of recycling common containers.
Vaso Trap® can be screwed onto recycled 1 kg glass honey jars.
Vaso Trap® is made of tough plastic material and consists in two parts: a funnel, to be positioned on the top of the jar (so as to prevent captured insects to fly out) and a lid which screws onto the jar, so as to protect the bait from rain, and has 6 regular gaps (so as to let the insects in).
Tap-Trap® “the tap-trap” has been used successfully for many years, both nationally and internationally, in controlling flying pests in orchards, vineyards and all kind of farming.
Tap-Trap® is made of tough, durable plastic material. Hooked onto a recycled plastic water bottle (filled with half a liter of bait mixture) and hung on branches of the plants to be defended, Tap-Trap® becomes an economical, effective and environmentally friendly bio trap.
